laptop charging in car

I know that one of the most stressful things as a travelling or as someone who is always on the go, is not being able to charge your laptop. I say this from experience, as sometimes you’d be lucky if you find an outlet to plug in. But worry no more! I have found some ways to charge your laptop without any cables and it’s easier than ever!

There are a few different methods I want to share with you that will allow you to take care of this problem and give yourself extra freedom while on-the-go.

1. Charge With A USB Car Charger

The easiest and most convenient way to charge your laptop while driving is through an USB car charger. They are pretty cheap and extremely useful. All you need to do is plug the car charger into your cigarette lighter (or power outlet) and then connect your USB cord into it. After that you can charge your laptop! It’s as simple as that. But be aware that this method doesn’t offer much power, so it won’t charge your laptop very fast. So if you want to use this method to charge your laptop while on the go, make sure you have at least 1-2 hours of driving time.

I recommend these two because they are in my opinion the best usb car chargers:

This one is great if you have an Apple Macbook because it has a Apple USB cord.

This one is great for most laptops because it has an universal USB connection.

2. Charge With A 12V Adapter

If you want to charge your laptop faster than with the USB car charger, then you can use a 12V adapter . This method is much more effective than the previous one because it uses a higher voltage and alternating current (AC), so your device charges quicker. Furthermore all laptops come with a charging cable, which you can use to connect your laptop to the 12V adapter. I know that when I bought my first laptop, this was what it came with as well. So it’s a pretty handy cable to have!

You can find them in any travel store, but I recommend this one because it has both 110V and 12V connections which means you can charge almost every device that you own. No matter if it’s laptop, smartphone or tablet.

3. Charge With A Power Bank/Mobile Charger

This method is similar to the previous one, as you need a 12 volt adapter as well. The difference is that instead of connecting your laptop directly to the adapter, you connect your power bank or mobile charger to it and then plug that into your laptop. This method is much more effective than the previous one because, as compared to your laptop, the power bank is a lot bigger and can charge devices up to 2-3 times faster. Furthermore power banks are cheaper and come in different shapes and colors, which makes them even more beautiful!

I recommend this POWER BANK because it’s not only very affordable (under $25) but also comes in very pretty colors.

4. Charge With A Portable Car Charger

These portable chargers aren’t as big or heavy as the ones I have said before, but they have a few benefits that I see as good enough when travelling or on the go. You are able to carry them in your pocket and they weigh less than anything else, so it’s not a burden at all! You can use this method to charge your laptop, smartphone or tablet whenever and wherever you want.

I recommend this one because it comes in a pretty package and is really small (you can hold in your hand). Another reason why I like it is that it has two USB connections, so you can charge two devices at the same time.

There you have it folks! 4 different ways that will allow you to charge your laptop without any wires! I hope these tips will help you out in the future, when you need to charge your computer while on the go.
